These Keto & Low Carb Waffled Tuna Cakes are a budget-friendly choice for an appetizer, side dish, or main course. Packed with healthy fats and protein, they can be quickly assembled using pantry staples. I opted for Solid White Albacore Tuna for its superior quality, but you can use any canned tuna or salmon you have available.

HOW DO YOU MAKE LOW CARB TUNA CAKES IN A WAFFLE MAKER?

You’ll love how simple it is to make these Keto Tuna Cakes. Start by draining the liquid from the tuna and adding it to a mixing bowl. Then, incorporate the egg, garlic, mayonnaise, lemon juice, crushed pork rinds or breadcrumbs, onion powder, and salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined.

Next, preheat your waffle iron and coat it with melted butter. Divide the tuna mixture into six portions, placing each ball in the center of the greased iron. Cook until the cakes are golden brown. Serve with a side of dill pickle dip and a lemon wedge.

STEPS TO MAKE LOW CARB TUNA CRACKERS

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cans chunk tuna
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup crushed pork rinds or gluten-free bread crumbs
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

  • The canned tuna can be switched out for canned chicken, crab or salmon.
