This Pepperoni Stromboli is a simple, delicious weeknight meal with just a few ingredients. It’s cheesy, savory, and full of flavor, making it a perfect choice to satisfy the whole family!
INGREDIENTS
- 13.8 ounces refrigerated pizza dough
- ½ cup pizza sauce (plus extra for dipping)
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 8 ounces deli-sliced pepperoni
- 1 large egg (lightly beaten)
- Splash of water
- 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
- ¼ teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- Fresh chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat the oven to 400°F and spray a baking sheet with cooking spray.
- Roll out the pizza dough and stretch it to fit the size of the pan (it may shrink back a little). Spread the pizza sauce over the dough, leaving a 2-inch border around the edges.
- Layer the mozzarella cheese and pepperoni on top of the sauce.
- Roll the dough tightly into a long log, pinching the seams and tucking the ends underneath. Place it seam-side down on the baking sheet.
- In a small bowl, mix the beaten egg and a splash of water. Brush the egg wash over the entire stromboli.
- Sprinkle the parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning on top. Gently press the seasoning with your hand so it sticks.
- Make several slits in the top of the dough, spaced about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown. Some cheese and juice may escape – that’s okay!
- Garnish with parsley (optional) and slice into 2-inch pieces. Serve with additional pizza sauce for dipping.
