These mummy hot dogs are super simple to make and add just the right touch of spooky charm. I first spotted the idea on the Pillsbury website and couldn’t wait to give it a try for my boys. They were an absolute hit—lots of squeals and excitement! We’re definitely taking these to our next Halloween gathering!

Don’t worry if you’re not the crafty type—these are incredibly easy to make! With just two ingredients and 20 minutes, you’ll have delicious mummy hot dogs ready to go. Plus, we’ll guide you through the process step by step!

INGREDIENTS FOR MUMMY HOT DOGS

  • 10 hot dogs
  • 1 roll of crescent dough (we used Pillsbury, but any crescent dough will do)

That’s right—just two simple ingredients: hot dogs and crescent roll dough! For a fun twist, we’ll be creating mummy hot dogs with arms and legs.

This recipe will yield about 10 to 12 mummy dogs, depending on how much dough you use for each hot dog.

HOW TO MAKE THE MUMMY DOGS

First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Next, let’s prepare the hot dogs. I cut each one to create two legs and two arms, as shown below.

Once all your hot dogs are prepared, lightly grease a baking sheet and set it aside for the mummy hot dogs. Next, unroll the crescent dough onto a cutting board and slice the dough sheet into thin strips.

Using a sawing motion with the knife to cut the dough strips can be helpful. Alternatively, a rolling pizza cutter can create more uniform lines.

Once your dough strips are ready, begin wrapping the hot dogs, using one strip at a time. Wrap each hot dog individually, ensuring you gently separate and wrap the arms and legs. This will give your hot dog a more human-like appearance, with the limbs distinct from the main body.

After transforming each hot dog into a mummy, place it on the greased baking sheet and move on to the next one. Continue this process until all your hot dogs are fully wrapped as mummies.

Bake the mummy dogs at 350ºF for 15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and fully cooked.

Allow the mummy hot dogs to cool for 15 minutes. We enjoyed ours with ketchup and mustard.
